Weekly Update

Update for this and next week!

TRAFFIC
Traffic will remain in the one-way configuration utilizing Lynn Street as the detour route for South Boulevard until early September while the south half of the roadway is reconstructed.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEK
With the exception of some gaps that were left for driveway access, the curb and gutter on the south side of the roadway is completed. Ongoing work includes the installation of concrete sidewalk and driveways on the south side of the roadway. Sidewalk installation will be the main focus of the project for the upcoming week.

Once the sidewalk and driveway aprons are poured, the contractor will place topsoil and sod, and complete any asphalt patching necessary on driveways and parking lots.

No changes are expected to be made to the traffic control layout or detour in the upcoming week.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR THE UPCOMING WEEKS

Work will continue on the south side through the first week in September.
The first lift of asphalt pavement is scheduled to be placed at that time. Once that first lift of asphalt is placed, traffic will be shifted to the south side of the roadway and work will begin on stage 2.

Weekly Update

Weekly Update for the week of August 11th

Grading will continue with the placement if base aggregate. Poor soils have continued as work progresses west causing more work to be done. Geogrid is still being used to reinforce the roadway in poor soil areas. Curb and gutter will continue to go in this week to fill in the gaps that were left for business access. The contractor will be backfilling the curb and gutter that was placed last week so that access sill exists to the businesses. A small portion of asphalt will be placed on Friday. A single lane of paving will start at Parkway and go around the corner at the Mobile and continue a short distance to the north. This is necessary for staging for the round about.

Upcoming

Grading will be completed for the new road bed but more will continue for curb and gutter and sidewalks and drive ways.  The rest of the concrete work for the stage one curb and gutter will begin again on Monday August 18th. The concrete curb and gutter will require cure time before it can be backfilled and traffic will be allowed to drive across it. Drive way access will be maintained.

Weekly Update

This update for the week of 8/4/14 is a day late, my apologies! Here's what's going on!

Concrete is being poured, in relation to curb and gutter. We should see significant progress in relation to the roundabout area with the curb and gutter work so that is exciting.

Grading continues and more grid and stone is being placed to make up for poor soil quality. This means trucks are still coming in with stone, this work is occurring more on the Farm and Fleet side of the road.

Storm sewer continues to go in without any hitches so far. Some electrical work is being done this week as well.

Over all we are still on track and although the grid work has taken a little longer than non grid work would've, the city was aware that this work would need to be done so we are still doing well. Here's hoping for good weather so work can continue!
